Sound & Social was born from two things we’ve always loved — music and meaningful connection.

Brandon’s relationship with music started long before Sound & Social existed. Growing up surrounded by music, media, and a deep appreciation for how they shape emotion and experiences, he developed a lifelong passion that eventually led him to take up DJing as a hobby in 2020. Completely self-taught, many nights and weekends were spent listening, learning, and experimenting — turning what began as a personal creative outlet into something we realized we wanted to share with others.

At the same time, we’ve always valued the social side of life — gathering with friends, creating intimate environments, and building spaces where people feel comfortable enough to be fully present. Whether it was hosting casual vinyl nights, traveling to concerts together, or simply curating playlists for moments that mattered, music and connection naturally became intertwined in our lives.

Sound & Social is where those two worlds meet.

Based in Delaware, Sound & Social is a Black-owned event-based company that provides curated DJ and event experiences designed to feel warm, intentional, and effortlessly social. Brandon leads the music direction and live experience as @djbenzo, while Olivia oversees operations, planning, and partnerships behind the scenes — ensuring every event feels thoughtful and seamless from start to finish.

More than just entertainment, our goal is to create atmosphere — helping people slow down, connect, and enjoy one another through music and shared moments. As the brand continues to grow, Sound & Social is evolving into a broader creative platform rooted in culture, community, and the belief that the right sound can bring people together in meaningful ways.
